Dropbox is a nice file sharing tool, it’s very easy to use. After installed this tool, you can choose a local folder for file sharing, and the files in the folder are backed up into the web storage. Afterwards, when you install it in another computer, the files can be easily synchronized automatically in several places. Dropbox also provides web interface to upload/download files. This feature is somehow a web based SVN, because it also supports versioning. You can use Dropbox to share documents, source code, photos, from your home PC and workplace computers.

Before I got this tool, if I need to copy some files back and forth from my company and home, I will compress the files into a zip and compose a draft mail in gmail, and attach the zip file. So i can download it from other places. Or I will use some USB storage to achieve this usage. But now, the free 2 gegabytes web storage is a better choice, and actually, you can get even larger storage space (5 gegabytes ) if you invite some friends to use it.  Dropbox also provides charged enterprise storage services. Currently, the user base of Dropbox is about 2 million, and it’s still growing quickly.

Now it’s time to throw away your small usb storages, such as the 2G disks you get as gifts from some company celebration parties. Web storage is much better and easier to use.
